How was life for you growing up?
Debra: “Growing up was fun, loud and busy. I’m the third oldest of ten. We grew up with both parents My Dad the Late Mr. J.D. McKinney & Mother Queen Mary McKinney. Our Mother was a very strict Christian Minister. We grew up reading and memorizing scripture. We were taught to believe in JESUS the SON of GOD. We Believe in Healing, Praying in English as well as an unknown tongues”
Did you grow up in the church?
Debra: “Oh Yes, Actually my siblings and I were taught at our local church and we were taught again by our Queen before the day was over. We were in church at least four days a week. I can remember me and my siblings having to rehearse after school almost every day. So we all can hold a note or two”.
When you hear the word religion what comes to your mind?
Debra: “Traditional living, People telling others how they are to think, worship, pray, sing while judging how people should act in church or out. One thing I Understand Daddy GOD gives us all a choice to either choose to Believe in Him (JESUS) or not”.
Why do you think that the youth lose faith and don’t know God?
Debra: ” I really believe because our youth may not see answers from our Heavenly Father as quickly as they think it should be or maybe not understand why certain things are happening in the world and a Loving GOD not answer. But maybe we’re not giving enough guidance. Growing up I was taught that everything was in GOD’S control but I have learned that DADDY GOD gave control over to man (us). We have to do a better job of teaching and living the abundant, blessed life. Teaching that Daddy GOD gave us our Imagination and we need to know how to Receive from our Father. Another thing, I believe that our youth are being pulled and influenced by the media. The negative influence from social media is very attractive and tempting. We still have a lot of youth believing and standing on the WORD. Sharing their testimonies of How Faith in GOD brought them through some difficult times”.
What are other avenues that you think would benefit the youth?
Debra: “Teaching more about our Spiritual inner man. Trusting that our DADDY GOD the creator of this beautiful universe has placed in each and every one of us the know how to speak and believe and have what we say. Healing for a loved one or finances to help others. I realize our youth are wanting good things in life and yes they should have it. But Seek Daddy GOD and His Kingdom first. Matt. 6:33”.
If you could have one power that Jesus had what would it be and why?
Debra: ” I really believe we have the same power as JESUS. We already have power (ability) Authority (JESUS) since we are created in Our Father’s image (Like JESUS) we can do as our Father we can speak LIFE, believing in our hearts that we will have what we say. Okay, Mark 11:22-25 Jesus said, Have Faith in GOD. 23 Verily, I say to you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be you removed, and be you cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall BELIEVE that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith, 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things you so ever You Desire, when You Pray, Believe that you Receive them, and you shall have them. 25. And when you stand Praying, Forgive, if you have ought against any: that your Father also which is in Heaven may Forgive you your trespasses”.
Describe Jesus in one word?
If there was one character in the bible that you could relate to who would it be and why?
Debra: “Well, The characteristics of Daddy GOD. I hope no one becomes offended but if so, there’s nothing I can do about it. Therefore, I want to be like my Daddy, I’m learning how I have authority in my mouth to say what I desire. And because JESUS did what He saw Daddy do He spoke to trees, wind, storms, demons, Disease, whatever got in His way those mountains had to move. Since JESUS took on Himself all matter of sickness, disease, shame, poverty all sin, I know I can live in Good Health (providing I eat right, exercise, forgive) I can have prosperity, wealth, riches because He became poor so that I might be Rich. See 2 Cor. 8:9”.
What is your favorite verse in the bible and why?
Debra: “Please let me give you two. Because when I was going through a very dark time in my life I stood on Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the Thoughts I think toward you (I Put my Name there) thoughts of PEACE not evil, to give you a Hope and a Future. And of Course Mark 11:23-25 where JESUS is teaching that we have authority to speak to any mountain (problem) in tell it what to do. The WORD is Living & Breathing and the more we read and Ask, Seek for understanding we open ourselves of to a wealth of knowledge. I’m a student in this Large Class Room and I’m So Grateful”.
